A Brazilian national, Jean Charles de Menezes was shot dead by plain cloth police in London tube. Witnesses described that the "Aisan"-looking man was petrified when hotly pursued in the London tube by the plain cloth police. After he was pinned down like a cornered rabbit, he was shot five times on head by the police. The police stressed that the man was "Asian"-looking and suspicious; and the UK authority defended strongly this policy of shooting to kill suspicious "Asian"-looking people.

It's shocking to hear such a horrifying tragedy; and it's more shocking to hear the authority to defend the incompetent police who caused such a unnecessary horrifying death of a complete innocent law-binding person. I was in the London tube when the second bomb incident happened. I was not that scared then, but cannot stop thinking what happened to this poor "Asian"-looking man who is not even Asian. I support fully the cause against terrorism; however, the policy of shooting to kill suspicious "Asian"-looking people make me feel alienated. I'll advise all my fellow Chinese countrymen to think twice before visiting UK as tourists.

Be mindful, as Asian-looking foreigners, you're bound to have a chance to be deemed as suspicious. In London tube, unfortunately being deemed suspicious and having an "Asian"-looking can be fatal!
